PLC Consultants

Growing Communities of Practice through Technology

Welcome to PLC Consultants' homepage. We welcome you to preview our program and contact us for additional information so that we can assist you with your school district's Professional Development needs. For districts who participate in Race to the Top initiatives, these modules can support the district's "Scope of Work."

We offer a unique and innovative format for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) bringing educators together online for professional development. Training can be exclusively online or we can begin with an initial face-to-face training and follow up with online learning modules that address specific areas of interest.

Our goal is to help all education professionals make connections with other educators while providing information, training, and ongoing support for these collaborative relationships. The core modules focus on Inclusive Education Practices for all education professionals.

Advantages to Online Professional Development:

  • eliminate costly travel and other traditional professional development expenses
  • no meetings to schedule
  • no substitutes to hire
  • no teaching schedules to arrange
  • no additional print materials to purchase

Advantages to Online Professional Development with PLC Consultants:

  • PLC Consultants monitor participation and progress for the school administrators
  • Modules are customized for specific school districts' needs - let us know your specific needs and we will develop a module to address this
  • Experiences are designed for small groups of participants; schools have 1 PLC or 100 PLCs participating
  • Participants are grouped based on need, teaching content, teaching teams, experience level
  • The professional development is ongoing, allowing participants to truly process the content while applying aspects of Action Research
  • Professional Investigations (c) provide real-time interactions with other local education experts
  • Participants have ready access to the Consultants throughout the process, it is a dynamic, interactive learning process; not a canned, scripted curriculum
  • The modules are individualized to specific sub-groups of teaching faculty (teachers, paraprofessionals, related service personnel, administrators) as needs vary based on education and experiences.

Each PLC group is appropriately sized to encourage mutually beneficial participation and professional interactions in a collaborative and supportive environment.
